CCBDA announces Businesses and Citizens of the Month

February’s Business of the Month was Bob’s Muffler Shop.

Owned and operated by Marna Killingsworth, the shop is located on Rt. 16 between Big Otter and Ivydale. A full-service muffler service and repair shop, they also offer WV state vehicle inspections. We value local businesses like this one that support our community. Call them today at 304-286-4182 to make an appointment.

The Business of the Month for March was Go-Mart, located at the Rt. 4/16 junction in Two Run and also at Big Otter. Although Go-Mart is not a Clay County-based corporation, it serves as a place of employment for several of our citizens. They offer a wide variety of products such as snacks, drinks, household amenities, and fuel. We appreciate the convenience they offer!

As always, the CCBDA is always watching out for those folks who go above and beyond to help our county and its people. Sometimes, those particular folks are not from our county. Case in point, two very eager fellows from Grantsville, Calhoun County, who took a day to fish in beautiful Buffalo Creek, decided that they needed to volunteer to work on our beloved Buffalo Creek Recreational Trail. They fell in love with the area and gave their time, helping to clear the track and to build part of the Cressmont bridge before last summer’s devastating flood. We would like to thank Richard and Christopher Butt, the mighty father and son duo, who put their precious time and great efforts into a county other than their own. We salute you both, giving you the honor of CCBDA’s Citizens of the Month for February. May more people learn from your goodness!

Last but not least, the Citizen of the Month for March was Connie Workman. Workman has served as county clerk for a number of years and has proven to be top notch at serving her county. Along with the plethora of duties she tackles every day, including organizing county elections, she has worked diligently with FEMA over the past nine months to get flood victims in our county taken care of. As one citizen stated, “She is worth her weight in gold!” Hats off to you, Mrs. Workman, for your hard work and your faithfulness to this county. You are much appreciated!
