When marriage was first instituted by God in the garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve the first humans, who were created by God, He gave them some very specific instructions to insure that the world would be populated with the offspring of His creation; Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” The marriage between Adam and Eve was conjugated and the result produced an offspring. That is how you and I got here; we are the posterity of Adam and Eve. The sexual union between a husband and wife is the perfect design of God and is the only means sanctioned by God for producing children. Not even the sexual union between an unmarried couple is sanctioned by God and is considered a gross sin.
On the other hand, the homosexual or same-sex marriage is an oxymoron because it cannot produce an offspring. I am not suggesting that the only sexual union between a husband and wife should be to produce children. It is also for recreational pleasure which is also God’s design. Proverbs 5:18 “Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.” Therefore, the only sexual pleasure that is sanctioned by God and is God honoring is that which is between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
Mark my words, the homosexual movement (that is what we are dealing with) will not be satisfied with so-called marriage. Remember when they were pushing for the States and Federal Government to allow “domestic unions?” It went from that to marriage and next will be multiple unions of three, then four, and then it will develop into a whole other monster. Sin is never satisfied.
The issue of same sex marriage is coming to West Virginia and you can be sure of that and it will not be long in coming. If the citizens of this State do not speak out and if the legislators of our State do not stand up to the national pressure which is sure to be brought to bear, you will see in the not so distant future same sex marriage in this State.
What are God’s people to do? First, pray for the homosexual that God would change his heart and deliver him or her out of this awful sin sickness. Second, be sure that you are grounded in the truth of God’s word so that you have no questions in your own mind as to what the Bible teaches on this issue. If you are not convinced of the truth you certainly cannot convince anyone else. Third, do not be ashamed to stand up and speak out against this and other wickedness in your community. Pastors, you must not be passive or indifferent about this matter. If you do not teach your congregations about this sin and the urgency of the matter, you cannot expect them to speak out and stand up.
If you are “gay” you are in a deadly trap which will lead to your own destruction. This lifestyle will destroy you as well as others who you participate with.
