Sodomy, Still a Sin

Does anyone believe that history is a teacher of wisdom? They say, (I don’t know who) that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result. People keep committing the same sins over and over hoping for a better result. If a certain thing was a sin in the days of Adam, understand, God’s standards do not change. Cane murdered his brother Able and murder is still sin.
The word “sodomy” was derived from the city where Lot lived according to Genesis 18 and 19. God was angered with the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and promised that He would destroy them for their gross sin of homosexuality; Genesis 18:20 “And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.”
Moses pleaded with God to spare the cities and not destroy them for his nephew Lot’s sake, but to no avail. However, God sent two men (angels) to bring Lot and his family out of the city. The wicked homosexuals attempted to rape the angels. Genesis 19:4-5 “But before they lay down [to sleep], the men of the city, [even] the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, “Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.” Lot begged the men not to take them and even offered his own two daughters in their place, but they wanted the men. The angels struck the homosexuals blind, but they, crazed with their lust, continued to claw at the door. After Lot, his wife and daughters were brought out of the city God rained fire from heaven and destroyed the cities. There is no trace of those cities today.
Most likely the apostle Paul was writing of this incident in Romans 1:26-28: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient…”
Here is my point: if homosexuality (sodomy) was a gross sin and an abomination against God in the days of Moses and Lot, it is still a gross sin and abomination today. It is not that God has changed or lowered His standards of holiness over the last 5,000 years, but mankind has forgotten history and no longer fears the wrath of God. Make no mistake, Romans 1:18 has not been made void, God is not looking the other way, nor has He decided that sodomy is now ok. Romans 1:18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness…”
If you are a homosexual, I plead with you to repent of your sins and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior that you may be cleansed and made holy through His precious blood. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
