SALT & SONSHINE
By Pastor/Teacher James R. Paxton

God identifies Himself in the Holy Bible as being all powerful and, in case we missed it, He tells us through His Word that nothing is impossible with Him. Either you believe it or you don’t.

Many are they who say they believe what the Bible declares and yet the evidence (fruit) of such declarations is not there.

We say we know that God can but leave it out there far beyond our reach. We mentally accept what is spoken but don’t put it to the test. We refrain from using the faith He has given us for fear that someone will laugh at us or think we are nuts.

As an example the Word of God declares that we are healed by the stripes of Jesus. God tells us that He is our healer. As we study the life and teachings of Jesus, we see that at times He was surrounded by multitudes of people and many were sick, lame, blind, etc. The Bible says He healed them all. Blind eyes were opened; the lame walked;  the deaf began to hear, and every sickness and disease was healed. He, Jesus, hasn’t changed. Oh yes, we believe He can, but we draw back when it comes to really believing that He will.

We have been programmed to depend on sense knowledge. If we can’t see it, feel it, hear it or taste, it we shy away. Why? Is the Word true? The Bible says God is no respecter of persons. Is He?

The Word of God tells us that God has given each of us the measure of faith.

We say we don’t have enough faith. Why? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. That being true, our lack of  faith is because we have not spent the time in God’s Word that would cause faith to abound.

We were made to give glory to God. God gets no glory from sickness or disease. Sickness and disease doesn’t come from God. It comes from the devil who you are supposed to be resisting if you have submitted yourself to God and His Word. If you are a Christian, it’s time to get real and believe what God says and depend on it.

Is God opposed to medicine, doctors and so forth? Absolutely not. He wants you well. If your faith is weak these things may save your life. God put it all here for us. He said He would supply all our need. In Him there is no lack. He does want us to put Him first and believe what He has spoken to us through His Word. We should be growing in His Word every day. Are you?

Due to lack of space I have not set before you specific scriptures in this writing. I trust you will search the scriptures and see for yourself what God is saying. He loves you and wants you well.

Maranatha!
