KNOWLEDGE

Several times throughout the New Testament God is telling us of the incredible value of knowledge.

It is not talking about the knowledge you find in an encyclopedia or in a university classroom.  The knowledge God is telling us about is far greater than intellectual gain.  God is telling us of that which is gained in coming to know more and more about God the Father and of His Son Jesus Christ.  As an example look at what 2nd Peter 1:2 says.
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  I am sure we could all use more of the grace of God and the peace that comes from knowing more about Jesus.
The Apostle Paul prayed for believers in Ephesians 1:17-19 asking God to grant unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
As we acquire biblical truths it increases our faith and as our faith is increased so are the blessings of God.  But I am speaking of more than historical or factual knowledge.  I am speaking of spiritual truths.  1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  That comes from spiritual hunger and a deepening relationship with Jesus and with Father God.  It is not what your brain (natural man) feeds on but that which is quickened (made alive) deep in your spirit.
The Bible says you are a spirit, you have a soul and you have a body.  Man has changed that around in these day by saying body, mind and spirit.  The body at some point will return to dust but the soul (mind) and spirit are eternal.  Our soul is made up of such things as our personality, will and our mind.  They are vitally important but it is the spirit that communes with God.  The Bible say that God is a spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.   Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  That is a form of having fellowship with God.  The only way we can hope to do that is through the blood of Jesus otherwise we would not be fit.  But Jesus blood has cleansed the sinner of all his sin and made him worthy.  That moves us beyond our comprehension and must be accepted by faith, faith in what Jesus accomplished at Calvary.  It was all Jesus and not our works, good intentions or kindnesses.  We are saved by grace, through faith (Eh 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:) and that is from God.  All we could do is receive it by the faith He has given us.  But faith that is not exercised is nothing but dead weight.  Believe and be blessed.
Maranatha!
