Did You Ever See Such A Mess?  The ground around here is frozen but across this nation it must be global warming because the Republicans and the Democrats are slinging mud everywhere.  The news media and the candidates seem to be more interested in the polls than the issues.  There are enough issues to go around: Jobs and the economy; Isis and all the terrorists; guns and Gitmo; healthcare and Obama care; Iran and Iraq; Russia and China, not to mention our southern border, moral decline and prisons full and running over.
Hollywood continues to pump out its filth and rake in its billions while churches close and pastors leave the pulpit.  There are Bibles everywhere but it doesn’t look like very many get the message.  It’s much easier to memorize a verse of scripture than it is to apply it to your own life.  Just because you can read the words doesn’t mean you get the message.
There are those who want to change our Constitution.  That Constitution is what made our nation so great.  Why?  It is based on Biblical principles.  When those principles are applied and honored it brings God’s blessings upon us.  When we choose some other path what happens?  Listen to the news, look at our families, and listen to college professors spewing out their humanistic doctrines and you can plainly see we are in trouble.
President John Adams wisely declared:  “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”  President Dwight d. Eisenhower said:  “Without God there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life.”  President John F. Kennedy said “the guiding principle and prayer of this nation has been, is now, and shall ever be “In god We Trust.”  President Theodore Roosevelt quoted President George Washington in his farewell address who declared “reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”
It would do our president, congress, professors, teachers and you and I to take a fresh look at where we came from as a nation and where we are headed if we do not wake up.  There is still hope.  Read 2 Chronicles 7:14.  God hasn’t changed but our nation sure has.
