Life’s Challenges

Life is filled with adversities, problems, challenges, temptations and mountains that stand in our way.  Some days it would be much easier to quit than to continue on.
There are days when we feel all alone, discouraged or misunderstood.  It seems like no one cares.  Prayers seem to be hindered and we just feel empty.
If this is you, welcome to life.  We are all somewhere on our journey from the beginning (birth) to the end (death).  We all struggle at times.  The book of Genesis tells us what we need to know about the beginning of things and the book of Revelation tells us how it will all end.  Somewhere between those two extremes we are making our own way on our journey.  That vast area in the middle is where we find life’s confrontations and challenges.  Must we just do the best we can and hope for the best?  Is that all there is?  Are we really that alone?  Not unless we choose to be.
For help along the way as we make our way, God has given us promises that He will give if we believe and trust Him.  He will send warnings our way if we will heed them and avoid many pitfalls.  Many times those very challenges are what help us to grow and become mature.  God didn’t say He would remove the problems but that He would be with us as we embrace them.  Are the promises of God for everyone?  Yes and no.  God is no respecter of persons and looks favorably on faith.  If you are His and live in a relationship set forth in His Word, then, yes the promises are for you.  If you walk in doubt and unbelief and are set on doing things your way, then, no they are not for you.  God give you the choice.  He has promised to make a way where there is no way if we believe.  God said His people perish for lack of knowledge.  Some people quote Scripture and then trample it under foot as they declare it doesn’t work for them.  They are snared by their words and their confession identifies them as those who walk in doubt and unbelief.  The book of James declares:  (James 1:6,7) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
Where does that leave you?
