Can You Identify 09-09-13 Method Church Picture early 1900's.
Clay Methodist Church, 1927

This week’s picture is taken below the Clay Methodist Church that burned in 1927. I have been told that this picture was taken to the left of the old courthouse if one would be standing on the street looking up at the building. We do not know anything about this picture and if any one could help us identify the occasion, the people and about the time it was taken we would appreciate your help.
My mother had a fall and fractured her hip and has had surgery so I do not know when I will be able to write another Now and Then. She continues to be in the hospital and we are praying for the best. If you believe in prayer our family needs them. If you would like to send her a card please send it to the address that I give every week I want to thank all of you who have supported this column and please continue to send your information and pictures in for preservation of our history.
My prayer is that God will richly bless you and keep you. Thank you so very much for reading Can You Identify and we do hope that you have enjoyed seeing the varied pictures of our Clay County history. Please send your comments to Jerry D. Stover, PO Box 523, Clay WV 25043 or jerrystover101@gmail.com. We again thank the Clay County Free Press for allowing us to publish these pictures and for letting us have the space for our articles. You can also call 304-587-4316, leave a message and your telephone number and we will try to return the call.
