Winford V. Rogers

Winford V. Rogers, 84, of Wallback, died Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.

He was born July 28, 1936, at Valley Fork, the son of the late Henry Winston and Florida Mae Wayne Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was a former coal miner in West Virginia and iron worker in Wisconsin. He was a Christian, a graduate of Clay County High School and an Army veteran. His pastimes were reading, tinkering on cars and wood splitting.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lillie M. Rogers; son, Scott A. (Gale Fugate) Rogers; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15 at the Young Cemetery, Linden, with the Rev. Roger Miller officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard.

There will be no visitation.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
