Gauley Bridge, WV – Willis Jackson Winebrenner, Jr. “Willie”, 92 of Gauley Bridge, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2014.

Born September 26, 1921 in Gauley Bridge, he was the son of the late Amy (Halstead) and Willis Jackson Winebrenner, Sr.

He was a member of the Lyons Club and the Oddfellows and worked many years for Appalachian Power, where he began as a lineman and earned a position in the credit department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn (Coleman) Winebrenner; his companion of many years, Ruby Elswick; and brothers, Opie Winebrenner and Cletus Winebrenner.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Beth) Winebrenner of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Kathryn Winebrenner, Susan Winebrenner, Tera Elliott, John H. Qualls, III, Timothy Moore, Craig Elswick, Mikki Moore, Kelly Burdette, Summar Taylor, Sarah Elliott, Kimberly Elliott, Megan Sullivan and Michelle Wojciechowicz; 19 great-grandchildren; the children of his companion, Sally Bracken of Campbell’s Creek, Freddie J. Elswick, II of Buffalo, Sheri Moore of South Charleston, Terry Elswick of Gauley Bridge, and Mary Elliott of Pond Gap; sister-in-law, Helen Winebrenner; nephew, Byron Winebrenner; and nieces Linda Duppee and Carolyn Cruikshanks.

Service were held 1 PM on Wednesday, April 30, at Pennington Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge with the Reverend Ron George officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.
