Wanda Bartley

Wanda Jean Bartley, age 75, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Spring Lake, MI. She was born May 2, 1951, in Clay, West Virginia, to Odie and Kathleen (Stewart) Tanner. Jean proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War before earning her Master’s Degree from Texas State University. She went on to work for many years as a technology analyst at the University of Texas in Austin, along with several other high-tech companies in the area prior to her retirement. On July 17, 1973, she married Stephen L. “Steve” Bartley in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and he survives her. Jean loved to travel with Steve and other family members and also enjoyed her feline friends. SURVIVORS include her husband of 52 years, Steve; two brothers, Gary Tanner and Jerry Tanner; sister, Janet Fitzwater; and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Julia Tanner; and brother, Joe Tanner. According to her wishes, private family services will be held.
