The soul of Thomas John Carr left this earth to join the heavenly host on February 22, 2024.

Tom died at home after a short illness attended by his wife of 34 years, Beatrice May Carr, and his brother and sister-in-law William and Deborah.

Tom resided in Harrison in Clay County, WV. He was a devout Christian and was a member and trustee of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Ivydale, WV. He was also an army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a loving son, husband, father, and brother. Tom was retired from Lake Champlain Transportation Company of Burlington, VT, where he was a marine engineer and electrician. He was also a skilled mechanic and could fix or repair just about anything.

Preceded in death by his father, Richard Albert Carr and his mother, Betty Lou Fogg, he is survived by his wife and three brothers, Daniel Robert of Jacksonville, FL, William Albert of Harrison, WV, and Stephen Edward of San Antonio, TX; a son, Joshua Caleb Carr, of Wallback, WV, and a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Carr of Burlington, VT; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

After cremation, a memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church on March 9th beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Dudley presiding. All who knew Tom are welcome to attend.
