Rolland “Pod” Ernest Miller II

Rolland “Pod” Ernest Miller II, 66, of Claudia Lane, Flatwoods, WV floated to Heaven to be with the Angles on Monday, October 22, 2018, at his home with his wife and son by his side.  Pod was born on May 23, 1952 in Glenville, WV, the son of the late Rolland Ernest Miller I and Kathleen (Boggs) Miller. In addition to his parents Pod was preceded in death by one daughter Stacy Jo Miller.

Pod is survived by wife Pamela Jo (Underwood) Skelly and they spent 19 wonderful years together, and  step-mother Lenora Miller of Glenville, WV, and also surviving is son Cadence Rolland Matthew Miller at home, step son Michael Lee Fleming of Flatwoods, WV, Bryce Legan a young man whom Pod Loved as a son, Flatwoods, WV one step-daughter Natasha Foster and husband (Larry) of Beckley WV, and two step-grand-child Makala Stewart and Kaden Foster both of Beckley, WV  Also surviving is brother Rick Miller and wife Cathy of Glenville, WV, and nieces and nephews Lucas Brent Miller and wife Holly of Tuscaloosa, AL and Amanda Michelle Miller of Crab Orchard, WV.

Pod graduated high school from Gilmer County High School with the class of 1970.  He started working for Weyerhaeuser in 1996 and that was the year that then new plant opened its doors in Heaters, WV and remained employed until his passing.  He and his brother Rick co-owned Miller Electrical Contracting Business.   Pods spare time revolved around his children and the children of Braxton County. He was involved in Braxton County Redskins youth football League, Braxton County Little League where he was involved with both Flatwoods baseball team the Falcons and Cardinals, and Braxton County Youth Basketball League Flatwoods Timberwolves.  He enjoyed wood working and was quit skilled. Pod could build anything he built his own home and made several out buildings for his family.  He loved to take his boys finishing.

In Lieu of flowers donation may be made in Pods honor The Redskins Braxton County Youth Football and Cheerleading, Braxton County Little League, or the Braxton County Youth Basketball League.

Family received friends on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services began at 3 p.m. from the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Wade officiating.  Cremation followed the funeral services in accordance with Mr. Miller’s request.
