Falls View, WV – Robert Allen ‘Bob’ Nuttall of Falls View, son of the late Elsie L. Allen & Norman I. Nuttall of East Providence RI, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on the 14th of January after many months battling multiple myeloma.  Survivors include his wife of 56 years Shirley Wyatt, daughter Kathleen Crawford (Terry), of Clewiston, FL, sons Kenneth (Molly), David (Cathy), and Dale, sister Claire E. Wesloh (Kenneth) of Austin, TX, and cousin Norman A. Pierce (Cindy) of Darrien, CT, 5 brother/sister in-laws, 9 grandchildren (1 predeceased) , and multiple grand-nieces and nephews.
Bob was a loving husband, father, faithful servant, ‘super neighbor’, mentor, and engineer.  He graduated from Brown University in 1958 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and retired from Elkem Metals (formerly Union Carbide) in 1995 after 28 years of service.  Well known in the community, Bob was a member of the Charlton Heights / River View United Methodist Church from 1968, served 49 years in the Gauley Bridge Lions Club, over 35 years in leadership positions, and numerous roles as supporter to others throughout the Upper Kanawha Valley.
As a sports enthusiast rooted in his college days playing basketball, he was a fan of GBHS sports teams throughout his children’s 15 year span at the school, and beyond.  Bob loved golfing and played well into his retirement years – Hawks Nest Country Club was his ‘second home’.  Scouting was also a passion having served as Scout Master for Troop 141 for many years.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Pennington Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge, WV.  Services will be held on Friday, January 22nd at the funeral home, visitation beginning at 1:00 pm, with the service following at 2 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to your local Lions Club to support their efforts to be ‘Knights of the Blind’.
Online Condolences may be sent to the family at www.carlwilsonfuneralhome.com
Pennington Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Nuttall Family.
