Newton, WV – Ricky Dale Smith, 50, of Newton, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at his home, from injuries he received in a farm accident.
He was born November 1, 1962, in Charleston, the son of Raymond Dale Smith of Newton and Lois A. McClain Smith of Newton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Ricky Dale Smith, Jr., Jessie Lea Smith and Katelynn Faith Smith all of Newton; fiancée, Mandy Ellison of Chloe; Mandy’s daughter, Dusty Morgan Duffield; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Onnie Starcher, III, Debbie and Brian Scott, Linda and Shannon Runyon all of Newton; several nieces and nephews.
Ricky was an employee of ACE Pipeline, Inc., Clendenin. He was a member of the I.U.O.E., Local 132, Charleston and the USWA. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 Wednesday, September 11 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial was in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Elana. Friends called two hours before the funeral service.
