Clay, WV – Rev. Darrell Eugene Adkins, 78 of Clay entered into his heavenly home on September 19, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Born September 12, 1936, in Lilly Fork of Buffalo Creek, to the late Elvin and Evelyn Adkins.
He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors and just being in the woods. He was a retired coal miner and an Ordained Pastor and Evangelist.
A husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather who loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Rebecca A. Adkins of Clay, and his children Carl (Shelly) Adkins, Linna (Mike) Singleton, Darlene (David) Tanner, Robert (Lisha) Adkins, Tina (Bill) Lindenthal, Jackie (Zack) Hobbs, Charles (Elaina) Adkins, brothers, Roy and Jerry Adkins, half-brothers, Billy, Richard and Eddie Adkins, sisters, Rosalee Harlow, half-sister, Lisa Adkins, 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, step mother Delorise Adkins, Darrell special uncle, Sterling (Wanita) Adkins and special friends, Jimmy and Sheila Salisbury.
Funeral Service will held 11:00 am Monday September 22, 2014 at Wilson Shamblin Smith Funeral Home, Clay with Minister Kenneth Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Adkins Cemetery, Enoch.
