Ray F. Morris, 79, of Leroy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior and reunite with his wife and Love of his Life, Shirlie, January 3, 2020 at Jackson General Hospital.

He was born March 27, 1940 at Clay County, a son of the late Floyd and Huldah Mollohan Morris. Ray served proudly in the U.S. Navy for four years and was a Journeyman Electrician. He loved his family and spending time visiting with them along with taking hikes, hunting, hunting ginseng and playing cards with friends and family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Shirlie Morris, along with two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Hunter, Kelly Mellen (Robert), Scott Morris and Traci Williams (Donny) all of Ripley; brother Delmer Brown of Port Lavaca, TX; grandchildren D.J. and Mike Jarrell of Madison, Hanni Hunter of Ripley, Amanda Mellen of Lexington, KY and Candace Mellen of Wheeling. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Fields officiating. Military Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard followed the service. Friends were received from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private burial followed in the Jackson county Memory Gardens, Cottageville
