Ray Dallas Shamblin

Clendenin, WV – Ray Dallas Shamblin, 79, of Clendenin, W.Va., entered into his eternal rest November 1, 2013, at his home, after a long illness. Ray was a retired West Virginia Conservation Officer with 30 years of service. He was also a 50 plus years Master Mason with the Clay Lodge #97 AFAM.
Preceding Ray in death were his parents, Jesse and Dessie Dawson Shamblin; along with his brother, Virgil; and sister, Madeline McKown.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda Fields Shamblin; and by his children; son, Terry (Lisa) Shamblin of Clendenin; grandson, Corey (Kathy); daughter, Jenna; grandson, Casey (daughter, Isabel and son, Gunner); son, Tim (Gladys) of Fort Mills, S.C.; granddaughter, Erica (Shawn) Messimer (son Jacob); grandson, Jason (Mandy); (daughter, McKinley); daughter, Joyce (Dick) Johnson, of Ivydale; grandsons, JD and Brandon Johnson; sisters, Justine Paxton of Maysel, W.Va., Linda Dunlap of Elyria, Ohio; brothers, Carl Shamblin of Peytona, W.Va., Dana Shamblin of Sissonville, W.Va.; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services were held 11 a.m., Monday, November 4, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Wallback with Minister Alan Jones officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wallback, W.Va. Friends called from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, November 3, at the funeral home.
