Akron, OH— Phillip C. Triplett, 80, of Akron, OH, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2017. He was born on February 11, 1937, in Clay, the son of the late William and Ada (Boggs) Triplett. Phillip was a Vietnam veteran having retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service to his country. He also retired from the Coventry Local School System after 28 years.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his siblings, Maysel Murphy, Melvin Buster Boggs and Thomas Triplett.

Phillip will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Lynn Triplett; children, Shirley (Marcus) Hilden, Phillip (Robin) Triplett Jr., and John (Dawn Cook) Triplett; grandchildren, Cary and Travis Hilden and Zachary, Connor, Garrett and Parker Triplett; siblings, William Triplett Jr., Francis Triplett, Homer “Jake” Triplett, Charles Triplett, Lois Philips and Russell Triplett.

Visitation was on Monday, April 3, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 12 p.m. at Victory Chapel, 32 W. Bellisle Dr., Akron, OH 44319. Pastor Robert Webb Jr. officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
