Summersville, WV – Patrick D. Hoffman, 74, of Summersville, entered Heaven’s gates on October 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Patrick was a member of Summersville Baptist Church, a graduate of Clay County High School, class of 1957, attended Glenville State College and retired from Rhone Poulenc after 25 years of service. After retirement, Patrick enjoyed working for the church, traveling with family and walking Barney with David.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Francis Craft Hoffman; father- and mother-in-law, Donald and Thelma Jones; and nephew, Jamie Gency.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Jackie Jones Hoffman; two sons, Jeffrey (wife, Nerlie) of Northampton, Pa., and David of Summersville; the pride and joy of his life, grandaughters Claire Jacqueline and Deirdre Hoffman of Northampton, Pa.; two brothers, J.C. (wife, Sandy) of Belva and Duane of Big Otter; one sister, Bonnie Wiseman (husband, Joe) of Belvidere, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Jane and Kate Steele of Gallipolis, Ohio.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care of Pennsylvania and West Virginia for the kindness shown to their loved one.
Funeral service was conducted Saturday, November 2, at 11 a.m. at Summersville Baptist Church with Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Bickmore.
Friends called at Waters Funeral Chapel, Summersville, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
