Duck, WV – Marian Nicholas, 83, of Duck, passed away at home Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born March 5, 1932 at Duck a daughter of the late Earl and Lena Paintiff Nottingham. She was also preceded in death by sister, Carol Vaughan.
Marian was a homemaker, a member of the Villa Nova Missionary Baptist Church and the Women’s VFW of Clay. She really loved her flowers. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rupert C. Nicholas; daughters, Karen Carr of Gassaway and Judy Davis and husband Ron of Frametown; son, Rupert A. Nicholas and wife, Valerie of Duck. Also surviving are very special and cherished grandchildren, Kristi Renee of Bridgeport, Ian Matthew of Frametown, Nathaniel Clayton of Morgantown and Caroline Grace of Duck; sister, Eva Schmidlin and husband, Don; brothers, Ralph Nottingham and wife, Dianne, Roy Nottingham, and Rodney Nottingham and wife, Fran; several nieces and nephews.
Service was 11 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor John Cole officiating. Burial was in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
