Leroy Smith

Leroy Smith, 88, of Dixie, entered into rest Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Born December 5, 1930, he was the son of William and Nettie (Godsey) Smith. In addition to his parents Leroy is preceded in death by his son, Kendall Smith.

He was a Marine veteran and retired grocery store owner.

Leroy is survived by his son, Gary Smith of Dixie; six grandchildren, Kendall Smith of Gauley Bridge; Tiffany Angel of Green, AL; Chelsie Smith of Amherst, OH; Kyler Smith, Kyla Smith and Khole Smith all of Powellton; and three great-grandchildren; Kaylee Smith, Kooper Smith, Karson Smith all of Gauley Bridge; and brother, Clifford Smith of Gauley Bridge.

A funeral service was held at noon on Monday, April 8, at Gauley Bridge Baptist Church, Gauley Bridge. Burial followed in Kanawha Valley Cemetery, Glasco.

Friends gathered with family one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
