Jennings Porter Adkins

Jennings Porter Adkins, 85, of Dog Run, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.

Born November 4, 1931, in Enoch, he was the son of the late George and Florida (Blankenship) Adkins. In addition to his parents Jennings was also preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

He was an Army Korean War Veteran and a retired Millwright worker at Colonial Rubber, Ravenna, Ohio where he worked for 34 years.

Jennings is survived by his wife, Eleanor Joan Adkins; and son, Brian (Nancy) Adkins both of Dog Run; two grandchildren, Porter and Jennifer; two great-granddaughters, Alenah and Adlea.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Pleasant Dale Church, Dog Run.  Burial followed at Fitzwater & Adkins Cemetery, Dog Run.

Friends gathered with family one hour prior to the service at the church.
