Jennifer Pitzer Sirk Long was born on June 11, 1951 and entered into her eternal rest on April 22, 2021.

Jennifer (“Jenny”) was a retired special education teacher and Director of Special Education for Clay County Schools. Jenny received her Doctorate in Education Administration from WVU in 1999. She dedicated over 30 years of her life educating and advocating for children with special needs. Jenny was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and proud grandmother. Most importantly, she was a devout Christian who lived to serve and honor God in everything she did. Jenny was a tremendous role model to all who met her. She was loving, compassionate, dedicated, generous, and driven. Jenny loved the outdoors and was a gifted gardener. She was immensely talented and had many other beautiful gifts, including being a skilled artist. Jenny was loved by all who knew her. Her loss is great and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Jenny is survived by her daughters, Kelley Sirk Johnson of St. Albans, WV, Kristen Sirk Kerns (Timothy) of Lewis Center, OH, grandson, Jaron Wayne Johnson of St. Albans, WV, husband Ronald Long of Beckley, WV, brothers William (Jackie) Pitzer of Davidson, NC, Michael (June) Pitzer of Charleston, WV, Charles (Julie) Pitzer of Charleston, WV, several nephews and nieces, and the children and grandchildren of her husband Ronald Long (Scott, Kimberly, Tobias, Felicia, Jessica and Chelsea).

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Pitzer, her husband, Ron Sirk, and her son in law, Cary Johnson.

A memorial of Jenny’s life was held at Fairview Baptist Temple 2294 Main St. Clay, WV 25043 on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Visitation began at noon, with the service immediately following at 1:00 PM.

Wilson Smith is honored to be serving the Long family.
