James Claude Hamrick, 83, of London, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 5, 2018, after an extended illness.

Born August 30, 1934, in Putney, WV, he was the son of the late Kenneth Spencer and Myrtle Jane (Hanshaw) Hamrick.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin and Weldon (Tot) Hamrick; and sisters, Opal Parker, Shelby Thompson and Emma Ruth Stepp.

He attended London Church of God for 31 years, where he served as Deacon.  He loved the Lord with all his heart, enjoyed collecting and selling coins and going to the flea market on Saturdays.

James is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Hamrick; children, Chris (Theresa) Hamrick, Kimberlie (Robert) Brogan, David (Sara) Hamrick, Anita Janie Hamrick, John (April) Taylor, Samie Eddie) Leavitt, Kenny Hamrick, Sharon (Chris) Hager, Margaret (Calvin) Marks, and James Claude Hamrick Jr.; grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Travis, Timmie, Andrew (Kim), Jenna, Grant, Jacobi, Justin, Gabriel, Joshua, Jason, Megan, Desarae, Patricia, Calvin, Madison, Veronica and Braxton; great-grandchildren, Khloey, Kaden, Aiden, and one on the way; brother, Otis Hamrick.

He was loved by a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff Montgomery General Hospital, 2nd floor for all the love and care given to James during his stay.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 10, at London Church of God, London, with Pastor Reta Pell officiating. Burial followed  in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
