Helen L. (Miller) Hutchinson

Hutchinson Helen L obit photoSpring Garden Township, PA – Helen L. (Miller) Hutchinson, 86, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Colonial Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in York. She was the wife of the late Elmer H. Hutchinson. The couple wed on April 2, 1947 and were married for 52 years.

A Celebration of Life tribute service was held at 10 am on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Tanya Brubaker officiating. A viewing was held from 9-10 AM Saturday, at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial was in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Born June 8, 1927 in Clay, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Miller and Nancy C. Seabolt. Helen worked as a café server at York hospital for five years until she retired.

Mrs. Hutchinson was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Freysville.

Helen had a passion for reading and educating herself through books. She loved her family and grandchildren and hosting family dinners. She was a talented cook, especially her homemade bread. She relished playing the slots at the casinos and traveling. Helen enjoyed the outdoors and had ability for being able to look at a plant and know exactly what it was.

Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by four sons, Elmer Hutchinson, Jr. and wife Jean of Elkton, MD, Bob Hutchinson and wife Paula of Kenosha, WI, Mark Hutchinson of Craley, and Rick Hutchinson of Albrightsville, PA; two daughters, Joyce Parise and husband Chris of Kenosha, WI, and Lori Snyder and husband Wayne of Dover; eleven grandchildren, Kim Hutchinson, Ritchie Parise, Wayne Cole, Dane Hutchinson, James Hutchinson, Allen Hutchinson, Kayla Hutchinson, Sara Gullion, Kyle Hutchinson, Kevin Hutchinson, and Cory Billet; seven great grandchildren, Kelsey Barnett, Jordan Hutchinson, Ayden Hutchinson, Brady Hutchinson, Mallory Hutchinson, Cameron Cole and Brynnley Hutchinson; two sisters, Goldie Miller of Kenosha, WI and Nora Coan of Kenosha, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark Miller and Glen Miller, and four sisters, Mary Kemp, Dolly Cooper, Virginia Crotty and Ida Cooper.
