Hazel V. Dawson, 85, of Bickmore, entered into rest Sunday, April 14, 2019.
Born February 2, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Haines) Bartley. In addition to her parents, Hazel is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wilbert Dawson Sr.; daughter, Betty Jean Dawson; granddaughter, Rebecca Smith; brothers, Fred and James Bartley; and sisters, Linda Bartley, Nora Bartle and Carol Rados.
Hazel is survived by her children, Carolyn Fitzwater-Taylor (Keith), Sharon Davis (Leonard) Raymond Dawson Jr. (Kathleen), Johnnie Dawson, Drema Buyers (Mark), Bobby Dawson, Teddy Dawson (Jeanie) and Jennifer Brown (Richard); 40 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 14 great -great grandchildren; brothers Billy Bartley and Freddie Bartley, both of Hazen, AK; sisters, Joanne Sullivan of Chicago, IL; Nola Bowling and Ivy Sloan both of King, NC.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at Wilson-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with minister Brodie Brown officiating. Burial followed in Dawson Sunrise Cemetery, Ivydale, WV.
Friend gathered with family one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
