Dorothy Ellen Keener, 94, of Clay, entered into rest Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

Born August 2, 1924 in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Chessie (Mullins) Nelson.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dorlen (Floppy) Keener; daughter, Connie Cook; sisters, Madelyn Boggs, Cathryn Barges, and Reva Snodgrass; and brother, Virgie Nelson.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Harold (Vonda) Keener, David (Wanda) Keener; daughter, Bonnie (Arthur) Jarrett all of Clay; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; sisters, Glada Lanham, Myrl Bailey, Nancy Lambey; brothers, Jerry Nelson and Byrl Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Nelson Family Cemetery, Triplett Ridge.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wilson-Smith Funeral Home, Clay.
