Eugene Auxier, 93, of Cannelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

Born May 2, 1924 in Mt. Olive, WV, he was the son of the late Kester and Ida (Clonch) Auxier. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his first wife, Alta (Ramsey) Auxier; daughters, Mona Sayre and Sally Johnson; grandson, Walter Asbury and great-grandson, Benjamin Asbury.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Ethel (Jones) Auxier; sons, Manual Auxier, David (Rene) Auxier, Timothy (Evelyn) Auxier and Charles (Patty) Auxier; daughters, Carolyn Sue (Stewart) Bryant, Judy (Andy) Simpson, and Delba Auxier; brothers, Harrison Auxier and Floyd Auxier; sisters, Nadine Poff and Blanche Massey; twenty grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Minister Shane Wynn officiating. Burial followed in the Auxier Cemetery at Mt. Olive.

Friends gathered with the family one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
