Lizemores — Elsie Lou Vance, 84, of Lizemores, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

Born February 14, 1933, in Lizemores, she was the daughter of the late Sebert and Reba (Morton) Dorsey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Bobby Dorsey.

Elsie Lou is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herb Vance of Lizemores; son, Hebert Emil Vance of Lizemores; daughters, Vicky (Eric) Perdue of Ovapa, Tammy Hardy of Lizemores; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sebert (Jean) Dorsey Jr. of Lizemores and Jerry (Patty) Dorsey of Deerfield, OH; sisters, Shelba Jean Donley of Mineral Ridge, OH, Rosa Lea (Ed) Bird of Niles, OH, Carolyn Sites of Oakland, MD, Eva June (Marvin) Cottrell of Deerfield, OH, Lorena (Don) Snell of Lynchburg, VA, Berneze Lynn (Frank) Lewis of Niles, OH, and Mary Elaine (Tim) Wilson of Belle, WV. Elsie had a “Prayer Warrior” that was her very best friend, Elva Jean Brown.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Lizemores Methodist Church, Lizemores, with Minister Herb Vance officiating.  Burial was in Luther Morton Cemetery, Lizemores.

Friends gathered with family from 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 24, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay.
