Ella Faye Martin

Ivydale, WV – Ella Faye Martin, 89, of Ivydale, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and” mamaw” to many, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015, at the home of her daughter Sandy with whom she made her home.

Born June 25, 1925 in Strange Creek, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Emma (Nottingham) Samples. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mancel Martin, son, Gene Martin, three brothers, three sisters and daughter-in-law Edith Martin.

She was a born again saved by the Blood of Christ Christian.

Ella is survived by her daughter and son-law, Sandy and Ronnie Holcomb, sons and daughter-in-law, Donald and Polly Samples and Melvin Martin all of Ivydale, daughter-in-law Kay Martin of Ivydale, five grandchildren, Patty Doughty and Donna Wagger, of PA., Crystal Killingworth Tanner, Jeana Samples Roundsville of Ivydale and Allison Samples of Charleston. Eleven great-grandchildren especially her little Angel Lexi Tanner and two great-great-grandchildren, brother, Norman of Strange Creek and sister, Shirley of Ohio, also her special grand-daughter Macy Oborne.

Graveside service was held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Martin Family Cemetery, Ivydale, with Minister Bob Huffman and Minister BJ Smith officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kanawha Hospice Care. Special thanks to her extended Hospice family Trista Rush, Amber Bevlins, Carol Nottingham and Amy.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to Hospice Care, 1001 Curtis Priceway, Charleston, WV  25311.
