Hampton VA – Elizabeth Gale Gibson Touchberry passed away on February 21, 2015. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known to many as their “second mom”.

Elizabeth was born and raised in West Virginia. She proudly served this country in the Air Force from 1967 to 1971. She resided in Buckroe Beach the last years of her life, where her toes spent many hours in the sand.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bert Calvin Gibson and Edythe Eileen Gibson; and her sister, Charlene Carol Efu. She leaves behind her only child, Michelle Elizabeth McLain and her husband, Chris; her grandchildren, Joshua Vaughan and Chloe Elizabeth McLain; two brothers, Samuel E. Gibson and wife, Stephanie, Richard Gibson and wife, Julie; three nephews, Clayton, Justin and Adam Gibson; and four nieces, Jodie Cain, Rose McNally-Brewster, Jan Louchart and Tabitha Stewart. A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Peninsula Funeral Home. The visitation followed afterwards until 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Association.
