Gauley Bridge, WV – Dorthy Sayre, 69, of Gauley Bridge went on to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at CAMC Memorial, Charleston. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Elzie O. and Chessie Faye Blankenship; husband, Ted Pritt; brother, Nathan Wayne; sister, Levana Dhaoui; and step-daughter, Tammy Preddy.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie of Gauley Bridge; sons, Merivale James Slaughter and wife, Nicole of Fayetteville, and Matthew Wayne Slaughter of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Danielle Turner of Beckley, Daniel Slaughter and wife, Jenny of Gauley Bridge, Christina Treadway and husband, Dennis of Clear Creek, Corey Slaughter of New York, Andrea Hanshew and husband, Joshua of Ansted, Timothy Fischer of Oak Hill, and Melissa Slaughter of Oak Hill; 11 great-grandchildren; step-children, Tressie Meeker and husband, Mark, Ronnie Sayre, Jr and wife, Donna of Oak Hill, Tina Peck of Rockcastle, Michael Sayre and wife, Kathy of Kentuck; 10 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild; sisters, Brenda and Michael Lanham of Gauley Bridge; Betty Elkins of Gauley Bridge; Verna Stringer of Seville, OH; brothers, Stanley and Nadine Preast of Locust, NC; Clifford Preast of Gauley Bridge; Carroll and Judy Preast of Swiss; Elzie O. Preast Jr. of Lakeland, FL; Robert and Susan Preast of Locust, NC.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge with Rev. Mark Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in the Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
