Delbert D. Summers

Delbert D. Summers, 83, of Clay, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

He was born August 20, 1937 in Clay County, a son of the late Della Mae White Summers and Patric Ira Summers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty H. Summers; infant daughter, Linda Lou Truman; brothers, Arnold, Ronald, Oral, and Elbert Summers; and sister, Lola Rogers.

Delbert was a disabled Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion.  He liked fishing, woodworking, carpentry, and doing mechanical work.  He enjoyed donating his time to helping others.  He was a Baptist by faith.

He is survived by sons, Steven Summers and Paul C. Truman; daughters, Robin Best, Beverly Burdette, Rhonda Duffield, Anita Truman, Rachel Truman Austin, and Misty Goodwin; brother, James Summers; sisters Norma Calcamp and Charlotte Jett; 25 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends was held at 4 P.M on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
