Charles E. “Chug” Brown

Dixie, WV – Charles E. Brown “Chug”, 80, of Dixie passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.

Born January 18, 1933 at Belva, he was the son of the late Malburn Brown and Hazel Sebert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jarrell Brown and Shawn Brown; and sisters, Hilda Ramsey and Lillian Snyder.

He grew up working for his father at Brown’s Service Station in Belva and was a retired coal miner from Massey Coal Company.

He enjoyed farming, wood working and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Madge Brown; sons, Keven Brown of Dixie and Eric (Christal) Brown of Bentree; daughters, Tammy Brown and Gloria Brown both of Dixie; three grandchildren, Landon Brown, MaKenna Brown and Nathan Harless; sister, Lorraine Summers of Belva; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of CAMC-Memorial Ambulatory Infusion Center, the staff of the David Lee Cancer Center and Dr. James Frame for their wonderful care during his illness.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge with the Reverend Charles Blankenship officiating. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.

Friends may call the funeral home one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
