Carol Diann Malcomb Smith, 53, of Ivydale, entered into rest Thursday, June 7, 2018.
Born July 12, 1964, in Gassaway, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edgar and Leona (Williams) Malcomb. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Murl Malcomb.

She worked as a CNA for 16 years and touched so many lives. Carol’s favorite thing in life besides looking forward to WVU football was sitting on the porch watching nature and talking about how much she loved her children and her family. Not a day went by for Carol  when she did not say “I love my family.”

Carol is survived by her husband, Jason Smith; son, Patrick Smith; and daughter, Jennifer Cutlip; sisters, Connie (Kessel) Knicely and Cathy Malcomb; several nieces and nephews that she cherished as if they were her own kids.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 12, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister David McLaughlin officiating.  There will be a private burial in Smith Family Cemetery, Ivydale.

On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.carlwilsonfuneralhome.com. Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Smith family.
