Alice Marie Matheney

Ivydale — Alice Marie Matheney, 94, of Ivydale, entered into rest   Saturday, January 14, 2017.

Born January 30, 1922, in Nicholas County, she was the daughter of the late John and Dallie (Long) Murphy. In addition to her parents, Alice was also preceded in death by her husband William Earlo Matheney; son-in-law Dennis James; and granddaughter Treva Craigo.

She was a member of Otter Vale Advent Christian Church.

Alice is survived by her son, Freeman (Nancy) Matheney of Ohio; daughters, Phyllis James and Priscilla (Lester) McLaughlin both of Ivydale; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Doy Murphy, of Salem, WV.

Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Starcher Cemetery, Dead Fall, Big Otter.
