Agnes Fay Hanshaw Perkins, 78, of Valley Fork, WV, departed this life February 9, 2023, after a short illness.

She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Agnes was born November 22, 1944, to the late Waunie and Kate Hanshaw. She was a lifelong homemaker and caregiver. She was also an avid yardsaler and loved her flowers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Lou Summers, Hazel Griffith, Shirley Jett, and Dana Hanshaw.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Rodney Perkins and wife Donna of Morgantown, WV. She also leaves behind brothers, Charles (Rose) Hanshaw of Fredericksburg, OH and David (Marie) Hanshaw of Valley Fork, and sisters Phyllis Hanshaw of Clay, Sharon (Rocky) Boggs of Valley Fork, and Ruth (Dan) Webster of Sullivan, OH. She also leaves brothers-in-law, Joe Summers and Blake Jett, and many nieces and nephews.

Agnes has touched many lives along the way with her sweet, gentle spirit and we have been very blessed to have had her in our lives.

A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2023, with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Smith Funeral Home in Clay with Minister John R. Osborne officiating. Burial followed in the Hively Cemetery in Wallback, WV.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.carlwilsonfuneralhome.com.

Wilson Smith is honored to be serving the Perkins family.
