Clay County Commission met for their regular bimonthly meeting on Wednesday, February 24, 2015 in the county commission room in the courthouse. Along with the regular action items on the agenda, commissioners approved the following items: confirm probating Will of Philip N. Pennington and the appointment of Wanda L. Pennington, Executrix. Confirm appointing Larry Homer Legg, Executor DBN of the estate of Kenneth C. Fitzwater. Approve the appointment of Gloria White, Administratrix of the estate of Rosetta Pritt, deceased. Confirm probating Will of Homer S. Morton and the appointment of Phyllis Y. Morton, Executrix. Approve the request of waiver of final settlement for the estate of Fonda Gale Butcher, deceased.
They also approved a resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application for a Day Reporting Center to be located in Clay, WV. A motion to approve a letter to the Braxton County Commission designating them as Fiscal Agent for the combined Clay/Braxton Day Reporting Center was approved. And the hire of Duane Taylor as a temporary part-time, as needed Dispatcher for Clay Communications Center effective February 24, 2016 at the rate of $10.00 per hour was approved. Duane’s employment will be pending on the completion of a successful drug screening and back ground check. The next regularly scheduled county commission meeting is set for Wednesday, March 9 at 10:00am at the courthouse.
