The first meeting for the County Commission for the month of October ran smooth as usual. After the approval of the regular action items on the agenda, the commissioners moved to approve the Last Will and Testament of Garry A. Bullard, deceased and the appointment of Mildred P. Bullard, Executrix. The Last Will and Testament of Virginia J. Carr and the appointment of Janice Lavone Holcomb, Administratrix CTA were approved. The appointment of Darla Kay Kish, Executrix DBN of the estate of Frank Lewis Kish, Jr., deceased was approved as well. Deborah A. Hall was appointed Administratrix of the estate of Ella Louise Carte, deceased. Virgil McClung was appointed Administrator of the estate of Bessie B. McClung, deceased. The commissioners then approved the appointment of Sharon Ann Lane, Administratrix DBN of the estate of Orval Kenneth Paxton, Jr., deceased. A request of waiver of final settlement for the estate of Lowell Paul Smith, deceased was approved.
The commissioners proceeded with the meeting by approving the hire of James Nance as part-time, as needed Paramedic effective October 14, 2015. His rate of pay will be $11.25 per hour without benefits. Nance has been a Paramedic since ‘98 and he also works part-time at Lizemores as a Paramedic. Teresa Casto was approved for her resignation as a dispatcher for Clay E911 Communications Center effective September 26, 2015. A list of tracts on the 2014 real estate books that need suspended from the November 5, 2015 land sale was also approved. Trick or Treat for Clay County was approved to be Friday, October, 30, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Commissioners also approved to change the November 11, 2015 regular meeting date to November 12, 2015 due to a legal holiday. The meeting will still start at 10:00am!
