Duck, WV – Ora Nottingham Duffield, 90, known to everyone as “Grandma” of Duck, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 in Braxton Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Born May 6, 1923 in Strange Creek, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Esta (Johnson) Nottingham, in addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Buck Duffield, two brothers, William “Bill” Nottingham and Richard “Dick” Nottingham, two children Dencil “Denny” Duffield and Patty Bolvin.
She was member of the Strange Creek Baptist Church.
Ora is survived by her sister, Ann Nottingham of Akron, OH, daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Gary Duffield of Duck with whom she made her home, sons and daughters-in-law, John and Bettina Duffield of Greenwich, OH, Lonnie and Laura Duffield of Duck, 10 grandchildren, Gary Duffield II of Grand Forks, ND, Jennifer Duffield of Charleston, Bobby Duffield of Duck, Amber Dick of Seville, OH, Amanda Forbes of Ashland, OH, Kathy Duffield of Hinton, Connie of Grantsville, Kevin Lowery and Michael Duffield both of Elkhart, IN, Christopher Bolvin of Clarksville, TN; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, she is also survived by her “special little boy” Andrew “Andy” Bragg of Ovapa,
Funeral service was held 11:00 am Monday, August 26, 2013 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Jimmy Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Sirk Cemetery, Duck.
