The rubber ducky race postponed from the Clay County Apple Festival, due to high water in the Elk River, finally was held Thursday, Oct. 1. The winning duck was owned by Doug Brown of Indore. Doug and his wife Lora reside in Indore, WV. Doug works at Kroger’s in Elkview and Lora teaches at Big Otter Elementary.
Doug is pictured with Jerry Linkinoggor, President of the Clay Lions Club and Donna Salisbury, Vice President of the Clay Lion’s Club. He happily received his winning check of $607.50.
