
Andrea M. Garrison, DO, is joining Medpointe Family Medicine, coming from Summa Health, part of Akron City Hospital, Akron, Ohio.
As an internist in the greater Akron area, she provided comprehensive primary care services, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult health conditions. Dr. Garrison’s osteopathic training emphasizes a whole-person approach to healthcare, considering how different body systems work together to promote overall wellness.
Her educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from West Liberty University, West Liberty, graduating summa cum laude.
She went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg. Dr. Garrison’s internship in Internal Medicine was at Summa Health, followed by her residency in Internal Medicine, also at Summa.
She has been serving as a clinical instructor in Internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University, Rootstown, Ohio.
In addition to her medical training, Dr. Garrison has a long history of volunteering for community organizations, schools, and medical facilities.
She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Physicians. Among her accomplishments are presentations at medical conferences as well as participation in research projects.
