The 2025 CCHS football season was one to be proud of, for sure. The Panther team went to the playoffs and nearly made it to the top. Four of the Panther players took a big step from the local football scene to statewide all-stars. These players represent the absolute toughness of the Panthers and earned historic spots at the most prestigious postseason games… the WV All-Stars BACF (Battle against Cystic Fibrosis) and the WV North South game.
The BACF game is an all-star game that pits the best graduating seniors from West Virginia against the best graduating seniors from Ohio. This was the first time in school history that players from Clay were selected for the event. Those players include Jaxon Brown, Jamie Grose and Christian Bryant. All three played defensive line, and Jaxon also punted. All three played key defensive roles grounding the WV defensive team and stifling the Ohio offensive team. When the smoke cleared it was WV all-stars over the Ohio all stars 26-7.
While the BACP part of the Panther team set their place in history, the other Panther player is just warming up for his run for gold. Jaden Morris will suit up for the Southern team at the WV North South game where the best players from across the state are pitted against each other. Morris will travel to South Charleston for a week of training and team activities before the big game on Saturday, June 20th. This is a well-deserved final run for a player who gave so much every game to the Panther uniform. Jaden’s dominant defensive skill and tenacious play didn’t go unnoticed by the play makers; he is a testament to the grit and determination of CCHS football.
Whether they cooked on defense at the BACF game or are just getting warmed up for a final time to butt heads at the North-South game, these four players have proven that CCHS football can compete with the best anywhere and at any time. Congratulations to these four players.
