Thornton, WV – John Allen Patterson, 43, of Thornton, WV, passed away December 27, 2013.
He was born July 8, 1970 in Gassaway, a son of Fred Patterson of Clay and the late Betty Hamrick Patterson.
John was a truck driver for Otet Trucking Co. of Fairmont. He was a loving husband and father.
In addition to his father he is also survived by his wife of 21 years, Virgie Smith Patterson; daughter, Heather Gittman and husband, William of Thornton; son, Jesse Patterson of Thornton; stepparents, Joe and Julie Rose of Richwood; siblings, Cheryl Parks of Frametown, David Patterson of Frametown, Michael Patterson and wife, Brenda of Frametown, Diana Taylor of Frametown, Sandra Teapole of Harrisville, Rodney Patterson of Frametown and Jalene Delp and husband, Robert of Bomont.
Service was 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor C.T. Matthews officiating. Burial was in the Hamrick Cemetery, Swandale.
