The CCMS Lady Mustangs are back in the spotlight this week, as three of the Lady Mustang softball squad were given awards by the CWVAC.
Abbie Moore and Alyssa Deal both received the All Conference Softball Award, because all season these athletes played 100 percent all out softball.
Deal played shortstop and had a glove like a wash tub – it was hard to get a ball past her. Moore played third and was tough to hit against because of her gun arm. She also had a mean bat that could spread the hits. Both girls well deserve the award.
Lexi Paige Adkins was also given the All Tournament Award. She was an outfielder who didn’t let the ball set in her glove or let many past her. She also had a gun arm that had runners questioning whether to take a chance or not.
Congratulations to these ladies who epitomize what true grit is all about.
