Richard D. Burford

Gauley Bridge— Richard D. Burford, 63, of Gauley Bridge, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill surrounded by his family.

Born on December 2, 1953, he was the son of the late Zane Cameron and Doris (Crowe) Burford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Burford, and nephew, Tracy Burford. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was a member of Lookout Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Lynn (Hartwell) Burford; son, Christopher D. (Holli) Burford of Ansted; daughter, Melissa (Chad) Brewer of Beckley; grandchildren, Olivia, Zane Cameron II, Brody , Allison, Ava Lou, Colt Richard; brothers, Lee Burford of Oak Hill, and Steve (Della) Burford of East Bank; sister, Marsha Angel of Oak Hill; sister-in-law, Debbie Burford; niece, Lorri Siemaczko; nephews, John Mills and Jason Burford; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services were held at 1p.m., Friday December 23, 2016 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Minister Daniel Bennett officiating. Burial followed in the Montgomery Memorial Park, London, WV.

Friends gathered with the family one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
