Kingsville, OH – Georgia B. Knight, 88, of Kingsville, OH, passed away Thursday evening, June 2, 2016, at her home. She was born May 12, 1928, in Hoover, WV, and was the daughter of Mack T. and Delta Macely (Hammack) Ellis.
Georgia was reared in Widen, WV, where she met Walter F. Knight. They were married on February 27, 1945 and had 68 blessed years together before his passing August 21, 2015.
Because of the strikes at the coal mines, they came to Conneaut and found work. Georgia worked as a maid at the Conneaut Hotel and was a number one sales clerk for Pelton’s Department Store. Her last job was a Premix and had the title of No. 1 Employee from 1964 to 1990 when she retired. Together they raised two daughters Fran and Phyllis. Georgia’s hobbies included sewing, coupons and bargain hunting. She and Walter enjoyed watching Judge Judy and the Gaithers’ gospel shows. Their favorite treat was at Dairy Queen ordering extra-extra-extra thick chocolate malts and if the spoon didn’t stand tall, it wasn’t thick enough.
Georgia was a member of the Conneaut First Assembly of God for over 60 years.
