The West Virginia Humanities Council recently added online grant applications to its website. Applicants may now submit grant applications electronically to the Humanities Council at www.wvhumanities.org/grants/.
Humanities Council grants range from $1,500 (or less) up to $25,000 and support not only educational programming but conferences, exhibits, teacher institutes, publications, documentaries, and opportunities for research and independent study as well. The next deadline is the June 1 minigrant deadline for small projects, single events, lectures, small museum exhibits and brochures, consultation needs, and planning for more complex projects. Minigrant applicants may request up to $1,500.
West Virginia nonprofit organizations are eligible for Humanities Council grants. The Council encourages proposals from colleges and universities, schools, libraries, historical societies, parks, convention and visitor bureaus, historic sites, museums, civic and service organizations, cultural groups, and local government agencies.
