The Clay County Career and Technical Center will be starting a beginners welding class on September 15 at 6 pm. The class will run Tuesdays and Thursdays for 6 weeks. There will be a 20.00 registration fee to cover materials costs.
Benefit lunch/dinner for JJ Blankenship, Thursday September 13, 2015 from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Clay Lions Club. Menu: 2 hot dogs, 1 side, 1 dessert, 1 pop and the cost if $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children. Your condiment choices are chili, slaw, mustard, onion, ketchup. Your choice of sides include macaroni salad, baked beans, potato salad, chips. Deliveries will be made within a 7 mile radius of the Lion Club on that day during the event time. All proceeds will be to assist J.J. in her fight to battle cancer.
Parents as Teachers Monthly Play Group, September 2, 2015 @ 10:30 AM, Clay Library. We will be featuring the book Pete’s A Pizza by William Steig. There will be story time and an activity that goes with the book. The kids will make their own pizzas. This will be open to all children under 5 and their parents. The annual Alumni gathering of all Clay County High School and Widen High School graduates will be held at the Clay County High School Cafeteria on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm in conjunction with the Golden Delicious Apple Festival (Sept. 18, 19, 20.) Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church has services every Sunday morning at 10:00 am, singing, preaching, praying and praising the Lord. The Lord blesses the service in a great way. Our Pastor Ron Doug Burdette preaches so many great and wonderful messages from God’s Holy word. Rev. Doug’s wife, Sandy, sings so many beautiful songs. There are small boys who sing also.
